At the Individual Adult Level
This content discusses the amount of interruptions a typical employee experiences during the day, and strategies for 'reducing the noise.' The focus of this session is on our social capital, which includes writing/reflection and very active participation via the "Virginia Reel" discussion model. We will celebrate our social networks. Finally, Shari breaks out her Super Hero cape to empower attendees to believe in their power!
At the Youth, Student, and Mentee Level
Content that is applied to youth includes social media use, and statistics from the book "THRIVERS" by Dr. Michele Borba. Strategies, including Priming, Limited Choices, and Chunking.
The Science of Hope
The science of HOPE is applied to these sessions. Dr. Alysha Collins completed her doctoral dissertation on "Hope in the Time of Crisis," so Alysha's expertise is utilized across the workshops.
